Hello everyone! This week I am sharing with you some in progress photos of my largest DIY project yet: a handmade patchwork "quilt". I have always wanted to make my own unique, recycled fabric based blanket, and a few weeks ago I started the process of cutting up my collected fabrics. I love seeing all of the examples of other artist's and crafter's work on places like etsy or at local arts festivals, and got a lot of my inspiration for this project from those examples. This project takes a long time to complete, but the end result is a totally unique, personal, and eco-friendly blanket you can keep forever! To save on some time, I re-used an old college comforter as the base of my quilt. I then cut up my fabrics (old free people bags, vintage scarves, old shirts and tee-shirts, leftover fabrics from other projects, etc) into square and rectangle shapes.
After that, all that needs to be done is to arrange your fabrics and start to sew each patch on!
