By Emily Schultz
This past weekend, I went on a trip
with my Women in Italian Art class to Bologna, Italy. The day started off
cloudy and dreary, however as we traveled around from site to site, the sky
began to brighten. Simultaneously, as we walked around, and brushed off our
early morning drowsiness, our spirits began to brighten.
The art and architecture of Bologna is fascinating. Often, the exteriors of the churches are minimal and plain; however, when you enter the building, it is as if you have been transported to a completely different place. The interiors are gilded and ornate, with famous sculptures and paintings adorning the walls. They are truly magnificent.
