After working on big, time-consuming photo projects I try to find different ways to unwind, while still being creative. During my summer breaks from high school I often attended the Glassell Junior School of Art (a part of the Houston Museum of Fine Arts), and one of my favorite classes was the Working Artist's Journal.
A working artist's journal is exactly what it sounds like. It consists of notes and drawings about ideas for projects, collaging (my favorite), inspirational quotes — it can really be anything you want it to be. In this particular working artist's journal (I have at least 5), I stick to collaging images I found inspiring. I collect magazines and look for interesting article titles, textures and people. Here's a look into pieces I've put together and things I'm working on.
