By Whitney Cole
This past week I have tried to turn my focus back to making work that continues from where I left off at my senior show. It has started back up with a process I’ve grown accustomed to; I just show up and take photos or experiment until something starts to work. Because I am sort of back in the preliminary stages of working, my images are more sporadic and there is less of a specific goal in forming them.
I shoot what catches my eye or what I think is an interesting thread to potentially follow conceptually.
Due to one unfortunate car breakdown and one day free of work shifts, I’ve been able to visit home twice this week to get my gears turning a bit. In general, I’ve been thinking of products of land or forms of mark-making, but I’ve also been roaming around a bit aimlessly. The goal here is to have inspiration come smack me in the face.
We'll see how that goes.
