By Sarah Brousseau
From a very
young age, we are introduced to the concept of love; we learn about princes and
princesses, happily ever after, and love at first sight. It is because of the
luscious and romantic qualities of these things that many of us grow up
believing they are the way of life. However, as we grow older and gain new
knowledge, a realization comes about — that the typical expressions of love are
not the only ones, and that in fact, love has many definitions.
Just like the
humans and animals which exude it, love wears a multitude of masks and can be
expressed in many different forms. Between two people or between a person and a
pet, for a specific place or time and even for objects or emotions, love
encompasses all things in our life and should be defined only by those who are
feeling it.
Below is list of
photographs, some of which are mine and some taken by others, expressing the
infinite qualities and types of love — hoping to inspire you and the work you
create. What kind of love do you believe in? How do you wish to love and be
loved? Where does it come from and where will you make it go?
